PMQ's: Peter Bone asks David Cameron about an EU referendum
At the Prime Ministers Questions on Wednesday 9th March 2011,
Peter Bone, the Conservative Member of Parliament for
Wellingborough, asked David Cameron a vital question regarding
the much called for ‘in or out’ referendum on EU
membership.
Mr Bone reminded his party leader that more than 80,000 Daily
Express readers want it, so too does the Liberal Democrat leader
and 80% of Conservative members all want it
The Prime Minister says that he thinks we're
better off inside the EU and completely
ducks the referendum question.
Restore the trust in politics - from the
Cons
First, Britain's future in Europe. We're the only major
party still offering you a referendum on the Lisbon Treaty. A
vote for the conservatives is a vote for the referendum -
something that itself would restore the trust in politics.
Second, Britain's future at home. What happens in Brussels
has a big impact here. Crime, employment, immigration - all the
big issues are debated over there.
